Angled sides suggest unusual construction techniques; most human fortifications are made on a severely rectangular design. The wall towers are rounded, not square. Khuzan design details but the workmanship is human. [1]
Decent-sized, the Keep is essentially a hollow square three stories tall. In place of the northwest corner, the walls angle in to form a fifth side. The northeast corner is a huge tower, taking up half the eastern wall; it is clearly the most heavily-protected area. The massive structure is well-placed; closest to the river and furthest from the town where trouble would likely approach. All five corners of the structure have large towers, clearly well-manned and very functional. There is a small boat entrance from the moat along the south wall and the southwest tower is quite large. A drawbridge is at the northwest corner; that and the boat entrance seem the only ways to enter; both are protected by twin gatehouses and double portcullises. [2]
There are very few structures in the courtyard; it is quite bare save for several storage sheds and what might be a granary. [2]
Access to the towers is all at the second story except for one ground-level door into one of the northern gatehouses for storage. All the other access points were narrow stairways up to the second story with no sides to protect people from falling. [2]
At the main tower, the top of the stone stairway is seven or eight feet from the doorway in the tower; a heavy plank crosses the gap, resting only six inches into a niche in the tower wall. [2]

Troda Dariune is a very political man; he fights better with words and in council chambers than he does with a sword. He is a competent horseman but experts will notice that he doesn't work with the horse, rather treating it as a slave, something to instantly do what it is told. [2]
