The hall could easily be the common room of a nicely-appointed tavern, with dark wood walls and plenty of lantern light from wagon wheels suspended from the ceiling. There are wide windows up near the ceiling that let in additional light without allowing anyone outside to see in. People scattered around the room sit in comfortable chairs by individual tables rather than on benches at long trestle tables. There is a counter against the far wall and a middle-aged man behind it serving drinks. The adjacent inner wall holds a wide fireplace keeping the room warm. The smell of roasting meat drifts from the fireplace. It isn't an inn but it is a private club and not open to the public.
