Tuleme Falls

A series of several waterfalls on the Kald River, rising about 50 feet over the span of a hundred yards. They are near the north-east corner of the Shava Forest and constitute the primary reason ocean vessels cannot enter eastern Hârn. Trade still moves around it with some difficulty as there is a thriving portage business. The portage route is nearly a half-mile long over rocky terrain. Seagoing ships up to about fifty feet in length tie up at the deepened harbor two hundred yards below the falls. River vessels dock at the extensive wharf a hundred yards above them, and cargo moves in both directions. Other services are available, and a hamlet is developing. The business does very well, operates under a license granted by the King of Kaldor, and is well defended against infrequent Pagaelin incursions. In a few decades, the Tuleme area may become a fair-sized village. It is not clear whether they will continue to consider themselves Kaldoric citizens. [1]
